Height of rudeness

We have been trying to help set up a party in a private home part of the rules is that we all do a meet and greet which we think is fair so we are not all strangers at the party.

Well we had one meet and greet with two couples and things are what we thought fine, then I met two other couples through Local Discreet Affairs things were going well. I met one couple they seemed to be nice people so I arranged another meet and greet, in the mean time I did start talking to another couple found them allusive but intriguing so I invited them as well.

It turns out that our friends my wife and I went to the coffee shop as planned and that is when our friend told us that one couple was in another province returning from some family crisis. The other couples did not show up so we thought the couple that I found intriguing not did they show up but were there before we arrived and told us on text that the hubby was at work and she was home cleaning so we did not bother looking for them however they were sitting behind us and would not come say hi.

WE don't mind being stood up but to be there and not say hi while all the time they were lying to us on text saying they were home that is the height of rudeness if you don't like what you see at least say hi then a day or two later say we are not interested.

All I can say is a phrase from where I come from (some mothers do have them)

 I have never "sttod" anyone up...real life has gotten in the way and I have had to cancel but geez....common courtesy. Life is too short to dick people around.

One the other hand....I have been stood up by both F and C......like I have nothing better to do than to go sit in a coffee shop waiting......
