What do you think about this type of behaviour?
What do you think about this type of behaviour? My Mother had a very simple philosophy on life , her simple ways and words were brushed off because she didn't sit and think about what the words meant for long periods of time , she didn't sit and debate with herself and others for any long length of time on the meaning to simple words or sayings ..when we were if we do something we are not supposed to do and something that has repercussions for our actions...we catch hell for it and maybe promise not to do it again yet we do... So when you were a did you say you were sorry for what you did and really mean it or did you say you were sorry because you got caught and cry saying you would never do it again but didn't mean it and then try and figure out how to do it different next time so you wouldn't get caught? I realize that maybe everyone who did something when being a don't really remember the things I mentioned but just for a laugh will be interesting to read any comments...lol |

I learned not to get caught

A little of column A and a little of column B. Really, as kids you don't think that far in advance.

Naturally we cry and say we sorry cause we got caught but it's a learning process and as we grow we don't make that mistake again for some of us it may take longer to realize 😉

I didn't want the whooping again. Spank me once and I learned. Or sometimes I received "the look."

For me, a bit of both. I can't say that I was ever a complete angel growing up. But then, who is? I'm a very firm believer that children are sociopaths., plain and simple, no judgement, just acceptance. That "right" and "wrong" are concepts that can only be learned. That we have no innate concept of this from birth. Maybe we learn them on our own. Hopefully we are taught them. But it is our responsibility as adults, especially parents, but also definitely family and friends of (it takes a village) to teach what is right and what is wrong and why. (Because without the understanding the why and the empathy of how you'd feel if someone else did that to you, why would you care? You'd just find a way to not get caught the next time.) If we want to live in a healthy society, it's our duty to help teach how to work together and get along, from the ground up. Start at home. Expand from there. 'Tis my two pence anyway. Even an herb as sweet as basil is nothing without its bite. Lord Basil

yes lol curse words were my downfall because as kids we heard it outside of the home my Parents didn't use foul language and what intrigues a kid is thinking being around those older folks in the neighborhood that we thought was so cool using foul language was the best thing ever..so it kind of became normal....great comment

well as kids we most generally say sorry if we are told to obviously and its a normal and natural reaction to an action but learned a lot about when knowing that it was wrong.
