The Ballad of the Serpendios

Can you hear them in the rain?
With bloodied eyes inflict their pain
Crawling, clawing, towards my domain
The Serpendios hunting once again

I have escaped them many times
As that Great Clock oftly chimes
But as sound in patterns oftly rhymes
As Liars commit their heinous crimes

The Serpendios turned my water brown
And they forced me to drink it down
And scratched upon my face a frown
And turned to black this curs’d town

The Serpendios clawed my very chest
I’ve the scars that I can attest
They threw me on my Family Crest
I staggered away a Man Unbless’d

Now I hear them outside the door
The Serpendios beckon me once more
Their ominous growling I cannot ignore
Those dirty waters constantly pour

‘Come out of the cold, we’ll take you in
You’re suffering is yet to begin
You are aware that you cannot win
We promise you that it’s not a sin’

And so my friends, and you are few
I’ve only these words to say to you
The day I disappear from your view
The Serpendios have taken me too
