Thinking about saying goodbye to Local Discreet Affairs...

My membership ends in September and I'm planning on letting my membership lapse.
I've been here for several years and have found that ladies aren't interested in a guy like me. Right now I've got 10 ladies I've emailed in the past four or so months and two responded, even if only to say they're not interested... That's been pretty much the way things have gone here for the past two years.
Maybe if I was a guy of color, had 8+ inches and built like a Greek God.. There'd be interest. But I'm a married white guy who has average endowment, needs to lose weight, am nice to everyone I meet and seemingly am no one's wet dream! LOL
Money is tight for me and I don't feel like I'm getting anything for my Money here other than disappointed.
It's been interesting here, but also frustrating. Best wishes to anyone who reads this!

Goodbye To A Feline Friend

RIP Tigger 1991 to 2007
I adopted Tigger from the Genesee County Animal Control Shelter in 1991 after looking for one of my cats, Zen, who had gotten through a screen window the week before. He was the least shy and most outgoing of the litter that was there, and my Mark liked him.
A couple of months later, Mark had grabbed hold of Tigger’s tail and literally flipped Mark backwards as Tigger jumped off my lap to get away from Mark! Mark ended up laying flat on his back with a very shocked look. He wasn’t hurt and I don’t remember him crying, but he never grabbed Tigger by the tail again.
Tigger quickly became my cat, even though I thought he would become Mark’s cat. Tigger took to following me around, sitting on me whenever I sat down and eventually sleeping on me at night. When I’d go to bed, I always slept on my side and Tigger would lay along my side on top of me with his head on my shoulder. Sometimes when I woke at night, he’d still be on me or laying next to me. But wherever I went, he was always there!
Fast forward to this winter. In December, Tigger started losing weight and would throw up after drinking water. It turned out he was constipated and thus not eating. So an enema and some injected fluids from the vet set him mostly right for a couple of months.
Last week he started slowing down again and Sunday was the last time he ate. He was sleeping all the time and wobbly on his feet, so I made another appointment with the vet for today since I didn’t have to work.
Tigger was in kidney failure and while he wasn’t suffering, he wasn’t going to get better.
So I made the choice to have him euthanized to avoid him suffering. It was very hard to say goodbye, and even harder to be there when they injected him, but I wanted him to know I was there and I loved him to the end…
Bye Tigger. You were a great cat and companion! Rest in Peace.

Dear Santa,
I thought I'd write you since I don't think I've done that since I was seven or eight.
You know I really believed in you when I was young, even though some of my schoolmates would laugh at me. When I found out you weren't "real", I was very sad.
Now I'm an adult and a few years ago I came to a realization that you are real!
Now I know that you don't exist as a person in the flesh and blood world per se.
You exist in the hearts and minds of , women and men who keep the magic of love and giving in their hearts.
Love and giving, two ideas of the Christmas season that have been lost in the commercialized frenzy that has become the Christmas season.
As you know, I know work as a cog in that retail machine that has helped to kill the Christmas spirit and corrupted it into a spending and credit card mayhem. For that I'm sorry and I do my best to bring the light and joy of the season to everyone I talk to during the day.
I hope I spread at least a little of your Christmas cheer to all...
In closing Santa, I wish you the very best of the Christmas season. Fly safe and true. I'll be sure to remember your closing words in that poem written so long ago:
"Merry Christmas to all, And to all a good night!"

I am thankful for:
Being alive and relatively healthy! Aches and pains are a part of life!!
A friendly smile and a warm hello from people.
A warm and cuddly cat. And I have four of them here.
Good vision and the ability to take good pictures.
Good friends and family, both in the real world and the virtual world.
Chex Mix and popcorn!
Diet coke.
That there may be some semblance of balance returning to politics.

... with this blog, but I've been with Local Discreet Affairs for a couple years now.
I think I've met a couple ladies here and chat with them online. No one has gotten the fire going, if you know what I mean! 
But they are great chat pals and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
But I'd like something more than that....
