I am sure everyone has their own interpretation of this well-used term. I asked one of my best buds and his was way different from mine. So, In case you're interested, here is my take on FWB's.
If you have read my profile closely, I think it pretty much sums up my idea of friends with benefits. But allow me to be more specific. For me, a FWB is a person who you are not in a committed relationship with. However, they are not a booty call either. For me, the key word in the term is Friend. Although for many, it seems as though the focus is on the Benefit.
In sticky's world, a FWB is a friend who will hang out on occasion with no obligation to see one another regularly. But, when the "friends" get together, there is an activity planned; a dinner, a party, drinks, an activity, something. Sex will definitely close out the evening, if the comfort and understanding is there.
Don't get me wrong, the pre sex activity doesnt have to be elaborate or expensive. Thats not the point. The point is that the freindship is real. Maybe not deep, but real. There is conversation and mutual interests. It should be fun for both parties involved.
I read profiles of men and it seems as though they want to be able to call you when they are horny, have you show up, fuck and be gone. That doesn't work for me. No matter how great the sex is.
Another problem is when the friendship is one-sided. I had a friend who was excellent in in bed. Almost perfect in the sack, I wasn't interested in anything serious with this guy at all.
